The UAE and the region are witnessing significant transformations in all fields of life. These transformations include social and technological advances. Whether it is sustainability, innovation, or artificial intelligence, the region is attempting to not just to be a user of technology developed elsewhere, but also to contribute to the creation of knowledge and invention of products and services. This summit is attempting to build up the culture of triple helix model in which Academia, Industry and Government work together to produce products and services. As a good start, five different higher Education institutions have collaborated organize this summit. Many different organizations have also shown interest to sponsor and contribute to the summit.Recognizing Innovation is a cornerstone of social and economic development, nations around the world have set about to develop national innovation strategies and frameworks. Innovation is key to promoting economic growth, increasing competitiveness and providing new job opportunities. Innovation gained impetus in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) with the launch of the ‘National Innovation Strategy’ by the UAE’s Vice President and Prime Minister and the Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum in October 2014. The aim is to make the UAE one of the most innovative nations in the world by the year 2020.
The UAE is a young nation, which was formed in 1971. Since then it has constantly been distinguished as an icon for innovation and creativity, enhancing its social and economic status and transforming into a primary destination for talents and businesses in a record time.
The British University in Dubai formed a Consortium with a shared understanding on the importance of the Triple Helix Model for Sustainable Innovation in the UAE. The members are linked with common goal of supporting the UAE’s National Innovation Strategy leading to societal benefits and driving the development of the knowledge-based economy. The consortium aims to attain the aim of the three components of the Triple Helix Model working towards sustained growth and development.
The Theme for the Summit is "The Role of Government / Academia / Industry in building Innovation-based Cities and Nations" and it focuses on the following areas in the Summit:

We invite representatives from the Government, Universities, Business and Industries to participate in the Summit.
Researchers can submit an abstracts of their groundbreaking research, which demonstrates their work in the areas of Triple Helix Model and the subthemes identified for the Summit.
All papers submissions must be made electronically through the Conference online Submission system by 31th May 2018.
